Hangout Fest 2023 is less than a month away and Tongue Tied cannot wait to head back to the sandy beaches of the Gulf Shores! Check out the sets Tongue Tied can’t wait to catch at Hangout below!

Flipturn 12:30 pm, Saturday, Shein Surf Stage

Florida’s Flipturn isn’t making too far of a journey for Hangout 2023, but as a longtime Flipturn fan, I am confident I’d travel far and wide just to have the opportunity to catch their electrifying set. 2022 kindly saw the release of the band’s debut album Shadowglow and a subsequent sold out tour that lit up cities around the country. I had the opportunity to catch their Columbus, Ohio show in November and it easily joined my top five list of the best shows I have ever seen. They go on at 12:30 pm Saturday on the Shein Surf Stage – so make sure you’re there early and ready to rock through “Sad Disco” and “Hippies”.

Rainbow Kitten Surprise 7:30 pm, Friday, Hangout Stage

With bountiful harmonies and electrifying guitar lines, Rainbow Kitten Surprise has taken the world (and TikTok) by storm repeatedly through mega-hits such as “It’s Called: Freefall” and “Cocaine Jesus”. The North Carolina-bred 5 piece band is best known for their powerful lyricism that connects crowds around the world with heartfelt ballads, and with a near-close Friday night slot, you absolutely have to catch RKS before hitting Lil Nas X & Red Hot Chili Peppers to end the night.

Noah Kahan 4:30pm, Sunday, Shein Surf Stage

The season of the sticks is heading down south for Hangout 2023 and I could not be more excited to catch Noah Kahan’s Sunday afternoon set. His massively successful Stick Season album has captivated audiences around the world in the post-pandemic era, transporting people to not only his home of Vermont but also the residual pain of isolation and missed connection. I’ve been obsessed with Noah for years and having finally seen him live last year on the Stick Season Tour, I can confirm that this is one set you absolutely cannot miss.

Paramore 8:45 pm, Saturday, Shein Surf Stage

Paramore has commanded stages for nearly two decades and I cannot wait to finally experience their riotous live show as one of the Saturday night headliners of Hangout. The band’s latest album This Is Why released earlier this year to rave reviews, highlighting the longevity and strength of Hayley Williams and her powerhouse band. I’ve dreamed of rocking out to “C’est Comme Ça” since This Is Why dropped, so be on the lookout for the Tongue Tied team screaming in the pit for the full hour long set.

SZA 9:45 pm, Saturday, Hangout Stage

Immediately after Paramore’s set, SZA will be closing out Saturday night of Hangout in style. One of the best albums of 2022, SOS is made for a live show with immense energy and sizzling lyrics. With older hits such as “The Weekend” and new chart toppers like “Kill Bill”, SZA’s The SOS Tour wowed fans earlier this year with intense and dreamy production value. We’re confident the Hangout Stage will be graced with similar beauty, and I can’t wait to party along to “Blind” on the beachy shores of Alabama.

You can find a full set list for the weekend here, including all SIX stages to rock out at for Hangout 2023! Hangout still has various ticket packages available online, so make sure you won’t miss out on the festival of the year! We can’t wait to see you on the Gulf Shores!
