Nashville-native Frances Baker has had a meteoric year with no plans to stop any time soon. Following a whirlwind UK tour with Arlo Parks that began in Instagram messages, Frances Baker has found a home in the studio with releases of a self-titled EP and new single “Soulful Baby”.

Baker’s vocals create a soulful warmth that caress her soft lyricism of desire for another person and confusion about their relationship. Her soft and expressive vocals sit perfectly within the combination neo-soul and bedroom pop instrumentation of the track. The mesh of genre is seamless for Baker, creating a sound that can only be defined as her own.

“Soulful Baby” is perfectly sultry and smooth in its delivery, offering fans of soul, R&B, and bedroom pop all something to love. The landscape of sound created by Baker is diverse and expressive across decades and genres, happily offering a masterclass in the world of Frances’ genre-bending in cowboy boots.
